Film, Television, & Photography Location Scouting Requests

The Barrow Mansion welcomes film, television, and editorial photography professionals and has a history of working with productions of all sizes. We are also available for holding. Film and Television Location Managers can schedule appointments in advance to view our historic building and surrounding neighborhood.

Support Spaces:

The Barrow Mansion has the support facilities to make your production successful. If you are filming in the area but not at the mansion and need additional facilities, we are often able to accommodate those needs. We have large interior spaces that are perfect for holding areas, hair, and makeup, as well as private and separate spaces for talent or for children and chaperones.

Location

The Barrow Mansion is located in Downtown Jersey City, within the historic Van Vorst neighborhood. The Van Vorst Neighborhood is full of historic townhomes and home to Van Vorst Park, a two-acre park featuring a gazebo, play area and a wide array of plants and flowers. Van Vorst Park is also available for location shooting. 

Transportation

The Barrow Mansion is a six-minute walk from the Grove Street PATH station, which has connections to NYC and NJ Transit via New York Penn Station and Newark Penn Station. It 4.4 miles from the Holland Tunnel via I-78W.

Permits

Filming at the Barrow Mansion requires permits from the City of Jersey City. Although the mansion is private property, permits will be required for parking, as the mansion has no on-site parking.
